Message from the Captain

Welcome to the Framingham Auxiliary Police Website! We have designed this website in order to provide you with insight into our volunteer law enforcement program.
The Framingham Auxiliary Police was established in 1942 as a civil defense corps to assist in the event that our country was attacked. Since that time, we have grown into a cadre of volunteer police officers dedicated to assisting the Framingham Police Department in providing safety and protection to the citizens of Framingham. We consist of a dedicated group of about 25 community minded men and women who volunteer their time and energy to help make Framingham a better and safer place to live and work.
Our mission is to be prepared to assist the Framingham Police Department in the event of a civil or natural disaster, or in the event that additional personnel are needed in any emergency. Our auxiliary officers attend initial Reserve Officer training provided through the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee at one of their regional academy locations in Massachusetts. After the Reserve Academy has been completed, our officers are continually training in all aspects of law enforcement to maintain our high level of readiness in the event that we are called upon to assist the Framingham Police Department.
The Auxiliary unit is made up of individuals that come from a variety of backgrounds and occupations including contractors, plumbers, IT managers, business owners, security professionals, nurses, accountants and doctors. There are a number of reasons why each has joined the auxiliary police - each as diverse as the officers themselves. However, the common underlying theme is that our officers enjoy giving back to Framingham, the community they live and work in. Who knows, after reviewing the information provided, you too may discover that this could be a way you can give back to our community.
Please continue to browse through our website to learn more about the Framingham Auxiliary Police and the services we provide. If you are interested in joining our ranks, please click on the Contact Us link and fill out the information requested.
Thank you and Stay Safe-
